Voltalia has been selected by the Tunisian government to develop the 132-megawatt Wadi solar project in the Gabès region. This selection follows two other solar projects previously won in Tunisia.
The 132-megawatt Wadi project adds to the Sagdoud project (won in May 2024) and the Menzel Habib project (won in December 2024), also located in Tunisia. These three facilities will bring Voltalia's total capacity of projects under construction in the country to nearly 400 megawatts. Their geographical proximity in the Gabès region will optimize synergies by sharing certain costs related to construction, transportation, and maintenance. The construction of the Wadi project will begin in 2027 with commissioning scheduled for 2028.

This project supports Tunisia's ambition to increase the share of renewable energies to 30% of its electricity production by 2030.
