After a 12.5% decline in one month, ArcelorMittal shares recover on Tuesday
The steelmaker gains ground mid-morning in a rising Paris market. This rebound comes after a series of difficult sessions and as two brokerage houses have published opposing views on the stock.
A rebound that leaves the share below its short-term moving averages
The ArcelorMittal share gains 1.88% to €58.68, in a CAC 40 up 0.59%. The share rebounds after breaking its €56.52 support level on Monday, but remains 5.89% below its 20-day moving average and 6.46% below its 50-day moving average. The RSI at 35 reflects the exhaustion of selling pressure in recent sessions, while the share is down 12.73% over one month and 4.27% over seven days. The 200-day moving average, 8.99% below the current price, remains a medium-term support level.

Two analyst opinions are published on Tuesday. Kepler Cheuvreux reduces its target from €73 to €72 while maintaining a buy rating, which leaves an upside potential of more than 22% compared to the current price. Goldman Sachs raises its target from €48 to €54 with a neutral opinion, representing a target 8% below the current price. The two houses therefore remain far apart on the group's valuation.
During the publication of H1 2026 results (July 30), the group had displayed confident guidance, mentioning positive prospects in the short, medium and long term and sustained shareholder returns. The €56.52 support level is now the key level to watch.
Positive outlook across the near, medium and long term with robust shareholder returns and structurally higher quality earnings
