Agentic AI: Atos gains ground in the ISG ranking of major service providers
In a press release published on 3 November 2026, the group announced that it had achieved this ranking for agentic AI development and deployment services, in the major providers quadrant at the global level, compared with a "Market Challenger" position in 2025.
The group took the opportunity to restate its focus: moving AI agents from experimentation to controlled operation within enterprises.
Three key points highlighted by ISG in Atos's approach
The ISG report evaluates providers that design and operate agentic AI within enterprise processes, examining in particular orchestration, systems integration, controlled execution, governance and human oversight. According to the press release, the challenge is shifting from building agents to operating them securely and reliably at enterprise scale.
Three key pillars of Atos's approach are highlighted. The first is autonomous data engineering, through the Atos Autonomous Data Engineer tool, which distributes these tasks among specialised agents (analysis, modelling, transformation, evaluation, governance). The second concerns the integration of workflows and systems, in order to connect AI decisions to enterprise systems.
The third is an agent assurance foundation, which incorporates security, access controls, autonomy limits, risk management and performance monitoring across the entire agent lifecycle.
ISG analysts Gowtham Kumar Sampath and Sushree Acharya noted that Atos designs its agentic systems around "governed execution in the enterprise", with "defined control limits" for delegated operational work.
An offering built around integration and Genesis Intelligence
Atos states that it combines digital sovereignty, cybersecurity and several decades of experience in managed services. Presenting itself as a vendor-neutral integrator, the group says it can connect AI agents across heterogeneous environments (ERP, ITSM, cloud, legacy systems, data), and relies on its Scaler open innovation ecosystem to integrate partner capabilities.
Use cases currently in development or deployment cover, among other areas, industrial processes, aerospace, aviation, utilities, banking, healthcare, education and retail, including critical environments. The group sees this as a reflection of the breadth of its approach.
"Enterprises don't need more AI pilot projects. They need agents they can entrust with real work," said Jennifer Ferrara, Head of AI at Atos. According to her, this distinction reflects "our maturity in agentic AI engineering for governed execution".
The group also recently launched Atos Genesis Intelligence, an end-to-end AI suite combining sovereign data management, secure orchestration and governance, continuously enriched by the Atos Sovereign Agentic Studios.
At the top of this suite, Atos Codex targets organisations operating in critical environments, with the aim of turning reliable analyses into governed operational actions under human supervision.
