Airbus share falls 1.5% mid-session ahead of Q3 results
The European aircraft manufacturer loses ground mid-morning, in a declining Paris market. The security approaches a medium-term moving average as its quarterly results approach.
Share approaches its 50-day MA at €196.92 after a week of gains
Airbus share loses 1.36% to €196.08, in a CAC 40 declining 1.46% and an SBF 120 down 1.42%. The security finds itself at the level of its 50-day MA (€196.92, gap of 0.43%), while it showed a gain of 3.08% over the week. It remains above its 20-day MA (€191.20, gap of 2.55%) and its 200-day MA (€188.82, gap of 3.84%), such that today's decline does not call into question this medium and long-term support.
The RSI at 53 is neutral: the week's rally has not led the security into overbought territory. Resistance at €198.92 is located less than 1.5% from the current price, support at €185.60 had been broken intraday on October 2 before a sharp rebound. The French bond market weighs on the session, with a 10-year OAT at 4.99% according to the October 21 reading.
Positive view from CIC and third quarter publication expected on October 28
The aircraft manufacturer's calendar is becoming clearer: projections on cargo aircraft presented on October 21 at the Cargo Facts Symposium, namely 2,670 aircraft needed by 2045, with nearly two-thirds coming from conversions, were unveiled a few days before the publication of third quarter 2026 results, scheduled for October 28. When publishing H1 2026 results (July 29), the group reported an order book of 9,222 aircraft and 886 gross orders for commercial aircraft. It also cited among the risks the depreciation of the dollar, which weighs on commercial aircraft revenues.
Regarding analyst views, CIC Market Solutions confirmed on October 21 its buy opinion with a price target of €240, representing an upside potential of more than 22% compared to today's price. Next appointment: third quarter results on October 28.
