Amoéba: Axpera authorization in France and roadmap set for 2030
Amoéba (microbiological biocontrol company based in Chassieu) presented on September 24, 2026 its roadmap through 2030, on the occasion of the publication of its interim results for the first half of 2026.
The company crossed the threshold of permanent market authorization for its biofungicide AXPERA in France at the end of June, paving the way for commercialization. In parallel, it launched a process to develop its cosmetics platform and initiated a dual fundraising to finance its development.
AXPERA authorized in France; distribution agreements with Koppert and Syngenta
ANSES issued permanent market authorization for its biofungicide AXPERA in France to Amoéba at the end of June. This authorization now allows other Member States of the European Union to finalize their national procedures.
Amoéba also made several deliveries to Koppert as part of the commercial launch of TIAGAN (vine market) and YAZU (vegetable market) products, developed on the basis of its solution. The two companies extended their distribution agreement by an additional year, until June 2031.
An agreement with Syngenta concerns the exclusive distribution of the solution developed by Amoéba for the cereals market, targeting wheat as a priority, in the 27 countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Switzerland. First commercial registrations are expected in the third quarter of 2028 and first sales by the end of 2028.
Operating loss of €6,364k in the first half of 2026
Amoéba realized its first revenue related to the sale of biocontrol products (€63k). According to the company, sales were affected by the issuance of permanent authorization in France, which occurred only at the very end of June, after the product usage period.
Industrial developments increased by €2,725k between the first half of 2025 and the first half of 2026, and research and development expenses by €725k. Current operating income stands at -€6,364k, compared to -€3,083k in the first half of 2025. After financial income of -€864k, net income is -€7,396k, compared to -€3,897k a year earlier.
The company's cash position as of June 30, 2026 amounts to €5,521k, compared to €4,722k as of December 31, 2025. Equity stands at -€5,974k and financial debt at €12,666k, mainly comprising the bond loan subscribed with Nice & Green for €11,908k.
Target revenue of €40m in 2030 and monetization of the cosmetics platform
Amoéba targets revenue between €1m and €2m as early as 2027, supported by the scaling up of contracts signed in the agricultural sector. The company then anticipates revenue of around €40m in 2030, based on approximately 85% agricultural activities, with current operating income above 10% of revenue at this horizon. In the longer term, it displays the ambition to double its revenue in 2032, to €80m.
In parallel, the company has initiated discussions with several dermocosmetics players to develop its Willa cosmetics platform, discussions that should be conducted with the support of an investment bank and are part of a monetization perspective starting from 2027. This operation could take the form of a sale or an exclusive license.
On the basis of its current resources and the letter of support from its reference shareholder, Amoéba estimates it can meet its obligations until December 31, 2026. The net proceeds from the dual fundraising announced on September 24, 2026 should ensure business continuity until September 30, 2027. The monetization of the cosmetics platform, whose realization, timeline and amount are not guaranteed as of the date of this press release, is presented as a means of financing the development plan.
