Among the best CAC 40 performers, Société Générale stock rebounds 2.5%
The La Défense bank rebounded sharply in late afternoon, in a CAC 40 that posted modest gains. This recovery comes after several weeks of decline and ahead of a dividend payment.
A rebound that does not yet close the gap widened with moving averages
The Société Générale stock gains 2.38% to €67.56, placing it among the strongest gainers in the CAC 40, while the index advances 0.38%. The security thus emerges from a difficult quarter, marked by a decline of 11.70% accounting for the coupon paid. The rebound has not yet changed the configuration: the price remains 4.61% below its MA20 and 5.24% below its MA200.
The security rebounded from the support zone at €65.04, which the price had approached in previous sessions, and the RSI at 32 shows that selling pressure has eased without disappearing. Recall that the security has been quoted ex-dividend since October 5, following the detachment of an interim dividend of €0.750: this coupon explains nothing about today's session.
