Among the best performers of the SBF 120, Genfit stock rebounds 4% after -34% in one month
The Lille-based biotech company specializing in hepatic and metabolic diseases rebounds sharply this Monday, among the strongest gains in the Paris index. This upturn comes after a month of severe correction, while the Paris market is barely moving.
A rebound of 3.99% that falls short of erasing the monthly decline
The Genfit stock gains 3.99% to €8.61 after closing at €8.28 on Friday, placing it second in the SBF 120, behind Vallourec, while the index rises by 0.14%. The movement remains modest compared to the decline of 33.87% over one month and 37.34% over three months: today's rebound only offsets a small part of it. The price still stands below its 20-day moving average (gap of -14.41%) as well as its 200-day moving average (gap of -10.59%). The RSI at 27 reflects the selling exhaustion of recent weeks, while the stock finds support at €8.28, the level of the last closing price.
Short positions at 2.21% of capital, created in one month
According to the declarations reviewed, three funds hold a net short position of 2.21% of capital, with the latest declaration dated October 7. This level appeared within thirty days. It signals that institutional investors positioned themselves bearishly on the security during the correction phase, although their motives cannot be inferred from this.
This point should be read with today's session in perspective: a four-point rebound can coexist with a bearish bet still in place. The semi-annual publication of September 28, which showed a net loss of €26.1 million and cash reserves of €113.8 million, preceded most of this sequence. The support level at €8.28 remains the key technical level to watch.
