Among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, Veolia stock rises 1.5%
The environmental services group is advancing significantly in an upward-trending Paris market. The movement extends the rebound initiated at the beginning of the week, following a difficult quarter, while French budget tensions remain at the center of current events.
A rebound that places the price above its twenty-day moving average
Veolia stock gains 1.38% to €32.22 in trading and ranks among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, which advances 0.58%. The stock is up 2.81% over the week but remains down 12.8% over three months, illustrating the extent of the ground to cover. The price now stands above the 20-day MA (€31.21, a difference of 3.24%), while the 50-day MA at €32.48 remains within reach, 0.8% above the current price. Resistance at €32.56 is less than 1.1% from the current level, a threshold to break to confirm the recovery.
The cost of French debt: backdrop to the session, analyst views revised downward on target
The Paris session is taking place against a backdrop of tension over French debt, with the 2027 budget under examination by the National Assembly and the 10-year OAT yield at 4.86% on October 12, at 5 basis points from its recent peak. On the analyst side, CIC Market Solutions lowered its target on October 12 from €40 to €38, while maintaining its buy opinion. This target leaves upside potential of approximately 18% compared to the current price. The decline of nearly 17% over three months observed in early October has since eased, with the quarterly loss now standing at 12.8%.
