Among the worst performers in the SBF 120, Valneva shares fall 4.5% following Ixchiq setback
The Lyon-based vaccine laboratory is losing ground on Thursday, mid-session, in an SBF 120 also trending downwards. The stock is reacting to the revocation of its chikungunya vaccine authorization across the Channel, while it was already far from its moving averages.
A British withdrawal affecting the chikungunya vaccine
Valneva shares decline 4.64% to €2.49 in trading, among the steepest falls in the SBF 120, which is down 0.77%. The laboratory announced on October 7, 2026 the revocation, by the United Kingdom, of the authorization for Ixchiq, its chikungunya vaccine. This withdrawal follows a supplementary evaluation of the benefit-risk ratio in travelers, conducted by the British Commission on Human Medicines. When publishing H1 2026 results on August 13, the company had already indicated it would refocus Ixchiq on endemic markets, while confirming its 2026 outlook despite a geopolitical context weighing on travel.

The decline extends a difficult sequence: the stock loses 8.27% over the week and nearly 14% over the month. The price is below the MA20 (gap of 9.27%), the MA50 and the MA200, the latter at €3.07, or 19.02% below.
