Aperam Shares Drop 3.5% and Break Support, Weighed Down by the SBF 120
The Luxembourg-based steelmaker accelerates its decline in mid-morning and sinks to the bottom of the SBF 120. Selling pressure, already evident last week, intensifies as the Paris index falls sharply. The stock erases part of the spectacular rally it had accumulated since spring.
The Stock Breaks Its Support at €45.84 and Drops Below Its Short-Term Moving Averages
Aperam loses 3.5% to €45.18, in an SBF 120 that is down 1.05%. The stock breaks its support at €45.84, extending the technical breakdown observed last week. The consolidation, already underway after failing at the €53 resistance, accelerates and places the price below its MM20 (€50.60) and MM50 (€47.32), with a negative gap of more than 10% on the short average. The RSI at 41 reflects this selling dynamic without signaling an oversold condition. Only the MM200, at €37.46, remains well below the current price, indicating that the longer-term rally is still intact.

The decline is part of a distinctly bearish European session, with the CAC 40 losing 1.06% and the VIX jumping 21.3% to 20.35 points. Aperam ranks at the bottom of the SBF 120, while cyclical stocks and semiconductors (Soitec -8%, STMicroelectronics -6.7%) see concentrated selling. However, the stock still maintains a gain of more than 37% over three months and nearly 71% over a year, highlighting the extent of the bullish journey accomplished before the current reversal. The weekly loss now reaches 12.5%, bringing the price back to a zone that has been monitored for several sessions. The next technical marker is around €45, whose support will determine the continuation of the movement.
