Aperam stock posts strongest SBF 120 gain with a 2% rebound
The steel sector value is leading the way this Monday within the SBF 120, driven by a rebound that stands out from recent trends. This movement occurs in a globally stable European market, with the CAC 40 trading virtually flat during the session.
Aperam tops SBF 120 with a 2% gain that hits moving average resistance
Aperam gains 2.04% during the session to 45.94 €, posting the strongest advance in the SBF 120. The rebound contrasts with a weekly and monthly context under pressure: the security has fallen 3.12% over the past week and 3% over the month. Over three months, the decline reaches 7.53%, which today's advance partially offsets without erasing it. The longer-term momentum remains favorable, however, with a gain of 73.49% over one year, which keeps the price well above the 200-day moving average (MA200 at 40.97 €, representing a spread of more than 12%).
The short-term configuration is more nuanced: the security remains below the 20-day MA (46.66 €) and the 50-day MA (46.28 €), two levels that form an immediate technical ceiling. The RSI at 42 illustrates this recent exhaustion without signaling outright oversold conditions. The support at 43.44 € remains distant, with the resistance to overcome located at 49.74 €.
Stable macro backdrop and carbon roadmap as medium-term backdrop
In this opening session of the week, European indices are making modest gains: the DAX is up 0.65% during the session and the FTSE 100 is advancing 0.68%. The CAC 40 and SBF 120 are virtually stagnant, so Aperam's rebound should be attributed more to dynamics specific to the security than to a broad market movement. The VIX is rising 5.35% to 15.94 intraday, signaling a slight uptick in volatility expectations on American markets, although this does not reflect marked tension.
As a reminder, the steelmaker had published its climate roadmap in early August, with targets for a 20% reduction in emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. In the medium term, a break through the two short-term moving averages (20-day MA at 46.66 € and 50-day MA at 46.28 €) would constitute the next technical confirmation of a trend reversal.
