Atos Deploys Microsoft 365 Copilot for Its 56,000 Employees Across 54 Countries
Atos and Microsoft announce the expansion of their strategic partnership to implement agent-based artificial intelligence across all its workforce and clients. The French integrator becomes the first in the sector in France to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot globally and one of the first French companies to adopt the Microsoft 365 Frontier suite.
Deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot for 56,000 Employees
Atos and Microsoft announced on Tuesday a significant expansion of their collaboration aimed at extending agent-based artificial intelligence to all employees and the client ecosystem of the group. Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available to Atos's 56,000 employees, spread across 54 countries. This deployment is based on Microsoft 365 Copilot E7, which unifies Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Agent 365 into a single solution, incorporating Microsoft's advanced security capabilities from Entra Suite, Defender, Intune, and Purview. Atos thus becomes the first global French systems integrator to integrate Microsoft 365 Copilot and one of the first companies in the world to fully adopt and operate the Microsoft 365 E7 suite since its general availability. The group is also deploying Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry to design, build, and operate agents for its IT services, business functions, and clients.
Unified Governance of 19,000 AI Agents
The partnership includes end-to-end governance of agents via Microsoft Agent 365, allowing Atos to manage a population of 19,000 AI agents through a single solution. This governance covers agents acting on behalf of users, agents operating with their own credentials, and agents from the Atos ecosystem, using the same administrative and security workflows leveraged by the group's IT and security teams. Frédéric Aubrière, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Atos Group, stated that this investment represents 'the most significant technological investment Atos has made in its teams for a generation.' The group believes that agent-based AI will define the next decade of professional services and wants its teams to 'drive this future, not just follow it.'
Security and Sovereignty at the Heart of the Strategy
By adopting the Microsoft Frontier suite, Atos has made an architectural choice to unify identity, security, compliance, and governance of AI agents into a single enterprise control plane. For a company operating in 54 countries and in highly regulated sectors (defense, financial services, health, public administration), this consolidation makes the secure deployment of AI at scale both operational and sustainable. Atos's strategy is based on three pillars: agent-based AI for critical environments, digital sovereignty allowing clients to retain control of their digital assets, and cybersecurity ensuring end-to-end security. The group indicates that companies will also enhance their existing joint initiatives aimed at serving the market, leveraging Atos's own transformation journey to guide its clients in adopting agent-based solutions.
