Atos secures six-year contract worth up to £350 million with London Police
Atos announced on October 5, 2026 the award of an application management contract by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), the public body responsible for law enforcement in London. The announced amount is a ceiling, and part of the scope remains optional, at the client's discretion.
Service management, application management and security for the MPS
The contract entrusts Atos with three service components: service management, application management and application security. The group will ensure end-to-end management and maintenance of key business applications across the MPS's entire technology infrastructure.
Services will be delivered in accordance with ITIL best practices. Information technology service continuity management will be at the heart of the delivery model, with security measures designed to protect data, systems and users.
According to Atos, this contract strengthens an established relationship with the MPS. Jamie Hewitt, Director of Digital Product Delivery at the MPS, stated that this collaboration will provide "a stable digital foundation" for officers and staff, supporting the modernization and simplification of its application portfolio.
A ceiling of £350 million and a possible two-year extension
The contract is for a six-year term with a potential value of up to £350 million. It includes the possibility of extending for an additional two years.
Beyond core services, the MPS has the option to expand the scope to managed cloud services, in order to entrust the service provider with end-to-end responsibility for application performance and service delivery.
The agreement also opens the possibility of integrating digital workplace environment services, covering the management of user devices and secure access to tools and platforms.
A new reference for Atos with a public sector client
Michael Herron, Atos's lead for the United Kingdom and Ireland, presented this award as an expansion of the partnership with the MPS, built on trust established "through many years of working together".
This contract adds to other recent references for the group in the public sector. The Île-de-France Region had thus placed into production since May 5 the e-GF financial management platform supplied by Atos, intended for managing an annual budget of nearly 5 billion euros.
Atos Group claims approximately 56,000 employees and annual revenue of approximately 7.2 billion euros on its future scope, in 54 countries.
