Atos Stock Soars Over 8% and Challenges a Technical Barrier at €45
Atos stock sees a strong midday surge in a moderately rising SBF 120. The movement follows AlphaValue's recent upgrade of its price target, building on a very strong May for the stock. The session brings back the discussion on breaking through a major technical barrier slightly higher up.
A Jump of 8.47% Propels Atos to the Top of the SBF 120
Atos stock is up 8.47% at €44.04, marking the second largest increase in the SBF 120, behind STMicroelectronics. The movement is part of a broader index that is up 0.55%, and extends the exceptional momentum of the past month: +33.45% over 30 days. Over three months, the stock is now up 9.59%, and 14.09% over one year.
AlphaValue raised its price target for the stock this Tuesday, from €66.10 to €69.80, while maintaining a 'buy' recommendation. Based on today's price, the new target offers a theoretical upside potential of about 58%. The firm thus strengthens its position as the stock continues to announce commercial deals since early May: a $500 million CNA contract, a €1.25 billion bond issue, Viasat and DGA contracts, and a Backbase partnership.
The 200-Day Moving Average, the Last Hurdle Before Confirming the Rebound
The stock price is significantly above its short-term averages: the gap reaches +12.63% over the MM20 (€39.10) and +19.48% over the MM50 (€36.86), indicating the magnitude of the rebound since early May. The stock is now approaching its 200-day moving average at €45.00, which it quotes 2.13% below. This level coincides with the resistance identified at €45.22, a double technical obstacle for the session.
The RSI at 55 remains in the neutral zone, leaving room before a signal of overheating, despite the steepness of the monthly movement. The MACD, however, remains barely negative (-0.02), indicating that the upward slope is tapering off in the short term and that breaking the MM200 will require an additional catalyst. The €45.00-€45.22 zone will be the focal point in the upcoming sessions to validate, or not, the stock's return above its long-term trend.
