Bassens Depot: Revenue Declines by 6.7%, Profit Remains at €2M
The operator of the Bassens oil depot in Gironde published its half-yearly financial statements on 30 September 2026. First-half activity was marked by a decline in shipment volumes, in a context of petroleum product supply restrictions that occurred at the beginning of the year. Despite this fall in revenues, the company maintained a net result above €2 million, with an operating margin remaining close to that of the first half of 2025.
Shipped Volumes Down 8.9%, Revenue Decline of 6.73%
Shipments of products from the Bassens depot reached 1,099,409 m³ as of 30 June 2026, compared with 1,206,732 m³ a year earlier, representing a decrease of 8.9%. Revenue stood at €9,601,659 in the first half of 2026, compared with €10,294,002 in the first half of 2025, down 6.73%. In detail, revenue from shipments and receipts activities declined by 4.6%, linked to the decrease in gasoline, diesel, renewable diesel and fuel oil activities. Revenue from colorations and additive activities fell by 13.3%. Conversely, revenue related to the assistance mandate for operations with SPBA company increased by 6.7%.
Supply Restrictions for at Least Three Weeks at the Beginning of the Year
The company reported a significant event that occurred at the beginning of 2026. According to the statement, the outbreak of a conflict between the United States and Iran in the Persian Gulf led to an immobilization of production and shipping operations for vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. This situation caused a deterioration in petroleum product supply to several regions. Some clients of the Ambès depot experienced reductions in supplied quantities, particularly in diesel. For at least three weeks, restrictions and contingent measures on quantities shipped from the Bassens site were implemented. From late April 2026 onwards, the situation progressively normalized, with the restoration of regular supply for nearly all clients, thanks to the implementation of new supply channels.
Operating Result of €2.70M and Net Result of €2.17M
Operating profit amounted to €2,704,296 as of 30 June 2026, compared with €2,911,026 a year earlier, a decrease of 7.1%. Operating expenses increased by 2.3% over the period. Net profit reached €2,169,042, compared with €2,323,247 in the first half of 2025, down 6.6%. Operating margin stood at 28.2% of revenue in the first half of 2026, compared with 28.3% a year earlier, a virtually stable level. On the balance sheet, customer receivables increased by 9.9% compared with the end of 2025, while cash and investments declined by 11.2%. The company placed €294,706 in investments during the semester, including €130,841 for safety works. As a reminder, the 2025 financial year resulted in revenue of €20.33 million and net profit of €5.12 million.
