BE Semiconductor Share: Nearly 35% Lost in One Quarter, Fresh Decline of 6%
The Dutch semiconductor assembly equipment manufacturer is experiencing a sharp selling session. It is dragging down other European semiconductor stocks as the correction spreads across technology globally. The decline extends an already severely weakened quarter.
A Support Level of €172.50 Breached, Far from Moving Averages
The stock falls 6.16% to €163.80 and abandons its €172.50 support level, which held during the October 14 session. It is now 12.11% below its 20-day moving average at €186.37, and 23.71% below its 200-day moving average at €214.70. The RSI at 39 remains in neutral territory: the decline is therefore not accompanied by oversold conditions, and the €203 resistance level is distant. Over one quarter, losses reach 34.9%, while the stock remains up 16.6% on a yearly basis. The support held the previous day, following a decline we had already noted in October.
U.S. Inflation and AI: Semiconductors Under Pressure
The session is marked by a correction in European semiconductor stocks, in the wake of a global decline in technology shares. According to our update on semiconductors, the acceleration of U.S. inflation is reviving concerns over interest rates, while investors question the financing of AI infrastructure and Chinese competition in memory chips. The movement contrasts with a CAC 40 up 0.31% at midday. On the analyst side, Oddo BHF lowered its price target on Tuesday from €400 to €320, with an outperform rating.
This target remains well above the current price. The analyst consensus values the stock at 37.1 times current fiscal year earnings. Next event: third quarter results, expected on October 22.
