bioMérieux among the weakest performers in the SBF 120 despite a 28% gain over three months
The in vitro diagnostics manufacturer is losing ground during the session, while the Paris market slides into negative territory. The stock is coming off a strong one-month rebound, supported by the publication of its quarterly sales and two target price increases.
A 2.74% decline that leaves the stock above its moving averages
bioMérieux shares fell 2.74% to €92.15 and ranked among the largest decliners in the SBF 120, which itself lost 1.64% during the session. The CAC 40 dropped 1.65% in a market weighed down by the correction in technology stocks on Wall Street, where the Nasdaq fell 5.52% on Thursday, and by the decline of Asian stock markets.
The available data do not link the diagnostics manufacturer to this movement: it simply follows a downward-trending session in Paris.
Nevertheless, the stock remains 3.10% above its 20-day moving average (MM20) of €89.38, after a gain of nearly 18% in one month, which places the day's decline within a rebound underway for several weeks. The resistance at €97.65, tested at Thursday's high, remains about 6% above the current price.
Two target price increases and annual targets confirmed at the start of the week
On the analyst side, Deutsche Bank raised its target price from €103 to €106 on November 5 while maintaining its buy rating, while Piper Sandler increased its target from €80 to €100 the previous day, keeping a neutral rating.
Deutsche Bank's target is approximately 15% above the day's price, and Piper Sandler's is nearly 9% above. These target increases follow the publication on November 3 of bioMérieux's third-quarter revenue of €1,042 million, up 8.1% at constant currency and scope, along with the confirmation of its 2026 targets.
For the consensus, see analyst opinions on bioMérieux. In terms of figures, the stock is still up more than 28% over three months, but it remains down nearly 15% over one year.
