BNP Paribas: Annie Pin to become Chief Executive Officer of Arval on April 1, 2027
BNP Paribas announced on October 5, 2026 a series of appointments at the head of Arval, its vehicle long-term rental business. Alain van Groenendael, Chief Executive Officer of Arval since January 2019, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors as of April 1, 2027.
Annie Pin will join Arval on October 26 as Senior Advisor
Annie Pin will join Arval on October 26, 2026 as Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer of Arval as of April 1, 2027. In this role, she will report to Thierry Laborde, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas, in charge of Commercial, Personal Banking & Services (CPBS).
She started her career in 2004 within the General Inspection department of Société Générale, before joining ALD Automotive, where she held various responsibilities in the Nordic region, notably Regional Risk Director and Managing Director of Norway. She subsequently became Group Chief Commercial Officer of Ayvens and member of the executive committee, leading an international organization of more than 4,000 employees across 40 countries. She also participated in the transformation and integration of ALD and LeasePlan.
Annie Pin is furthermore co-founder and member of the board of directors of Inspiring Women in Fleet (IWIF). She holds a master's degree from Sciences Po Paris and an MBA from ESSEC Business School.
Arval prepares its growth with the acquisition of Athlon
In the coming months, Alain van Groenendael and Annie Pin will work closely together, as well as with the teams of Arval and Athlon, to prepare the next phase of growth, according to the press release. Thierry Laborde mentioned the recent acquisition of Athlon, with which, according to him, "Arval is opening a new chapter in its history by becoming the co-leader in European vehicle long-term rental".
He stated that Alain van Groenendael "has united the teams and led strategic initiatives" at Arval, and highlighted Annie Pin's "more than 20 years of experience" in mobility and financial services.
Before leading Arval, Alain van Groenendael held various positions at BNP Paribas Personal Finance from 2008 onwards, notably as administrator and deputy chief executive officer, before becoming its president in 2015.
