Cabka: its climate targets validated by SBTi, including -79.79% on scopes 1 and 2
In a press release published on October 19, 2026, Cabka, listed on Euronext Amsterdam and specializing in the transformation of difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into reusable transport packaging, announced that its short-term emissions reduction targets had been validated by SBTi Services, the validation body of the Science Based Targets initiative.
The group had committed to these targets in 2024, with validation targeted for 2026: this was achieved within the planned timeframe.
A 79.79% reduction targeted by 2030 on scopes 1 and 2
The first validated target concerns direct emissions and energy-related indirect emissions. Cabka aims for a 79.79% reduction in its absolute greenhouse gas emissions from scopes 1 and 2 by 2030, compared to the reference year 2022.
The second target concerns the value chain. It provides for a 35.0% reduction by 2036, still compared to 2022, in absolute scope 3 emissions related to the purchase of goods and services and end-of-life treatment of sold products.
According to the company, this validation provides a "clear and measurable" trajectory for emissions reduction across its operations and value chain.
A decline of approximately 66% in direct emissions between 2022 and 2025

Between 2022 and 2025, Cabka's scopes 1 and 2 emissions (using the market-based method) decreased by approximately 66%, driven by the switch to renewable electricity at its sites. The company notes that this represents more than four-fifths of the path toward the validated 2030 target.
Over the same period, total reported emissions from scopes 1, 2 and 3, including exclusions, declined by approximately 15%. Scope 3 remains the largest share of the group's footprint, and its reduction, through the choice of raw materials and end-of-life treatment of sold products, constitutes the priority of the 2036 target.
"Our priority is to achieve measurable emissions reductions through renewable electricity, more efficient operations and keeping more plastics in the loop," said Alexander Masharov, Chief Executive Officer of Cabka. He added that the expansion of the "BuyBack" program and increased use of recycled materials will be central.
Beyond the validated targets, the group reiterated its ambition to achieve 100% renewable energy and carbon neutrality of its own operations by 2030, an ambition that, according to the company, continues to guide its investment choices.
