Cenergy doubles terrestrial cable capacity planned for its Baltimore plant
The board of directors of Cenergy Holdings, a Belgian holding company listed on Euronext Brussels and Euronext Athens, has approved the installation of additional cable insulation lines at its subsidiary Hellenic Cables Americas' facility in Maryland. The decision was made public by press release on October 19, 2026.
Terrestrial cable capacity doubled
The expansion is intended to double the terrestrial cable production capacity originally planned for the site. According to the group, it aims to increase Hellenic Cables' capacity to serve the American market and respond to demand driven by the modernization of electrical grids, the development of data centers and electrification broadly speaking.
The company presents this decision as a reflection of its commercial momentum and a growing portfolio of opportunities in the United States in medium and high voltage cable applications. It notes that electricity demand there is progressing at its fastest pace in decades, driven by data centers linked to artificial intelligence, industrial relocation and electrification.
Financing secured through the group's own resources
Financing will be secured through the group's own resources, with the proceeds from the 2024 capital increase being entirely allocated to the initial development of the plant. Cenergy Holdings indicates that the Baltimore site is designed as an scalable production platform, combining advanced technology, local production and customer proximity.
"The decision to increase the production capacity originally planned for our Baltimore site reflects the strength of the opportunities we see in the American market and our confidence in its long-term growth prospects," said Mr. Alexiou, Chief Executive Officer of Cenergy Holdings. He added that Baltimore was becoming "an important pillar" in the group's growth strategy in the United States.
