Elis stock falls 2.5% and drops below its 50-day moving average, down 13.5% over three months
The specialist in work clothing and linen rental and maintenance services declined significantly on Monday, in a Paris market trending downwards. The decline erases part of the rebound initiated last week following an UBS target price increase. The stock nevertheless remains in a mixed technical configuration, between two major moving averages.
The stock drops below its 50-day moving average during the session
Elis stock fell 2.31% to €22.00 mid-session, while the SBF 120 lost 1.33%. The stock is at the bottom of the index ranking, just above the day's steepest declines. The decline places it 4.26% below its 50-day moving average, at €22.98, whereas it remained close to this reference in recent days. It nevertheless maintains a margin of 1.48% above its 20-day moving average, at €21.68.
The 200-day moving average, at €25.19, remains more than 12% above the price, in a context of a 13.66% decline over three months. The movement follows a rebound of nearly 2% on Friday. Over seven days, the stock maintains a gain of 3.48%, but the support at €20.98 and resistance at €23.38 now frame the trading zone.
Conservative guidance for the first half and decline in short positions
When publishing H1 2026 results on July 29, the group expected organic revenue growth for the full year to be slightly lower than that of 2025. This cautious tone contrasts with the 2026 targets confirmed at the end of July, and the stock has not recovered to its pre-summer levels since. On the short sellers' side, net declared short positions fell to 1.24% of capital, compared to 4.81% thirty days ago.
This retreat of more than three points reflects a clear easing of bearish bets, without being able to draw any precise intention from these players. The next key technical level to monitor remains the support at €20.98, the lowest technical level identified below the current price.
