Engie share trailing the CAC 40, weighed down by a 4.5% decline over one month
The energy producer is losing ground in a Paris session clearly oriented downward. This decline extends a long downturn that has left the share below all its moving averages.
A 2% decline that places Engie at the bottom of the CAC 40 table
The Engie share is down 2.01% to €22.95 during the session, while the CAC 40 is declining by 1.33%. The share is among the sharpest declines in the index, in a Paris market penalized by weekend violence and concerns about public debt. The 10-year OAT stands at 4.74% according to closing data from October 15, compared to 4.52% a month ago.
Engie is not designated as directly exposed to these tensions: the movement is part of a session in which French equities are retreating across the board. The decline comes a week after the nearly 2% gain on October 14, which accompanied the announcement of a biomethane project in Le Havre with CMA CGM. The share is still up 0.88% over the week, but down 4.49% over one month.
Below the MA20 and 5% away from the MA50, still a fragile technical configuration
The price falls back below the MA20 (€23.12, a gap of 0.74%), after attempting to approach it in recent days. The gap is more pronounced with the MA50 (€24.16), located approximately 5% above the price, and with the MA200 (€26.15), more than 12% above. The support at €22.52 is 1.9% below the current price, while the RSI at 48.8 remains neutral.
On the fundamentals front, the group had raised its 2026 guidance for recurring net income attributable to the Group when publishing H1 2026 results on July 31, 2026. An upcoming update on Belgian nuclear is expected: the Heads of Terms between Engie and the Belgian State have been postponed to November 4.
