A rebound that places the stock above its three moving averages
The Eurofins Scientific share gains 2.89% to €77.72 mid-morning, among the strongest rises in the CAC 40, which advances 0.77% at the same time. The stock is trading 3.48% above its 20-day MA, 7.24% above its 50-day MA and 15.73% above its 200-day MA, representing a clear divergence from the medium-term trend. It is also approaching its resistance level at €78.96, while the RSI at 54 remains neutral, leaving some room before a tension zone.
Over one month, the gain reaches 6.77%, despite a slight decline of 1.37% over seven days. This movement occurs in a session where Brent holds above $100 and the OAT-Bund spread exceeds 150 basis points.
A half-year publication that brought profitability close to the 2027 target
When publishing first-half 2026 results on July 23, Eurofins indicated that its profitability was almost at the level targeted for 2027, with more than a year ahead of schedule. The group also attributed the improvement in cash generation to lower investments, following the peak in spending. Among the headwinds cited, organic growth had not yet returned to normal pace, and BioPharma activity remained slow.
On the portfolio side, the group finalized on October 2 the sale of MET Labs to UL Solutions for €575m and the acquisition of Element's North American testing operations for $400m. Over twelve months, the group also repurchased €575m in shares, representing 4.2% of its market capitalization according to the latest statement filed on October 5.
