Euronext stock climbs over 15% in the quarter, amid a sluggish CAC 40
The pan-European stock exchange operator is advancing notably this Monday, in a nearly stable CAC 40 that gains barely 0.1% in trading. The stock is consolidating above its moving averages, bringing its quarterly performance to over 15%.
A rebound of 1.32% that positions the stock above all its moving averages
Euronext stock is trading at €161.60 in the session, up 1.32% from Friday's last close (€159.50). The stock is trading above its 20-day MA at €159.79 (gap of +1.13%) and its 50-day MA at €158.19 (gap of +2.16%), two thresholds it had already crossed during its 2% rebound last week. The 200-day MA, meanwhile, stands at €141.44, roughly 14% below the current price, which illustrates the scale of the underlying upward trend initiated over the past year.
Over a seven-day rolling period, gains reach nearly 3%, and over three months, the stock shows over 15% gains. The technical setup remains consistent: the RSI at 51 signals neutral territory, without excesses in either direction, and the positive MACD histogram at 0.11 betrays slight buying pressure that is gaining ground over the sell signal. The next resistance level stands at €165.30, approximately 2.3% above the current price.
A recovery in a low-mobility market, against a backdrop of prolonged US-China trade truce
Euronext's advance is occurring in a particularly calm market context: the CAC 40 is only moving +0.12% in the session, the SBF 120 +0.10%, while the DAX is gaining 0.64% and the FTSE 100 barely 0.09%. The VIX, which measures implied volatility in the United States, rises to 16.28 points this Monday, versus 14.87 at the end of the previous session, a jump of nearly 9.5% intraday that reflects a slight increase in concerns about American markets. This context of renewed uncertainty can indirectly support trading volumes on European exchanges of which Euronext is the infrastructure.
From a fundamental perspective, activity volumes directly condition the operator's revenues: when the company published its Q2 2026 results in early August, it posted revenue growth of 16.9% and record adjusted earnings per share of €2.42. Furthermore, the €750M share buyback program, announced in April 2026 and executed at approximately 23% by early August (€174M repurchased), provides mechanical support for the stock by progressively reducing the number of shares in circulation. The identified support level at €157.00 remains over 2.8% below the current price.
