Eutelsat share continues its decline, -3.10% this morning
Eutelsat Communications posts one of the worst performances on the SBF 120 this Thursday morning, in a Paris index that is nonetheless holding up overall. The decline occurs in a deteriorated technical and fundamental context, despite two partnership announcements published the day before that were insufficient to reverse the trend.
Bottom performer of the SBF 120 in a nearly stable Paris market
The Eutelsat Communications share drops 3.10% to €1.83 in trading, finishing in last place on the SBF 120 while the index gains 0.16% and the CAC 40 advances 0.12%. This decline adds to a monthly slide of 10.05%, in a quarterly context that remains particularly heavy with a 35.85% fall over three months. The current week offers meager protection: the stock maintains a 3.55% gain over seven days, but this technical rebound remains insufficient to erase the scale of the quarterly decline.
Two agreements were nevertheless announced on September 9: the Global AKAR agreement signed with Skynopy, which aims to transform the ground station network into a platform open to other operators, and the integration of 48 thermal sensors from OroraTech on future OneWeb satellites for forest fire detection. These two operations illustrate the strategy of opening the low Earth orbit fleet to third-party payloads, but they have not weighed sufficiently on market sentiment.
A weakened technical structure below the three moving averages
From a technical perspective, the share trades below its three moving averages: it quotes 4.74% below the 20-day MA at €1.93, 12.45% below the 50-day MA at €2.10 and 21.09% below the 200-day MA at €2.33. This configuration, where the price remains trapped below all of its long-term reference levels, reflects underlying bearish momentum. The RSI at 44 remains in neutral territory, without a marked oversold signal despite the scale of the quarterly correction, which indicates that selling pressure has not yet been exhausted.
The support level at €1.74 now constitutes the closest threshold to monitor, while resistance at €2.22 remains some 20% away. From a fundamental standpoint, when publishing FY 2025 annual results (August 5, 2025), the company had highlighted the rise in LEO activity, up 69.5% to €297 million and representing 25% of total revenue, while signaling the structural decline of the GEO segment expected to continue. The next key date for analysts' opinions on the group's trajectory will be the publication of results for the first half of the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
