Fastned: comparable revenue up 47% in third quarter, 2026 guidance confirmed
Fastned published on October 15, 2026 charging revenue of 51.3 million euros for the third quarter of 2026. On a comparable basis, revenue stood at 46.3 million euros, up 47% year-on-year, while total sales grew 43%. The Dutch fast-charging station operator confirmed its full 2026 guidance, with 65 stations under construction at the start of the last quarter, nearly double compared to last year.
Gross margin of 37 million euros, up 44% year-on-year
Charging revenue reached 51.3 million euros in the third quarter. This amount includes 5.1 million euros in Dutch "e-credits" relating to the first quarter of 2026, transferred to the third quarter following the reopening of the Dutch public portal, which was temporarily closed. Excluding this effect, comparable revenue reached 46.3 million euros, up 47% year-on-year. According to the company, this timing difference has no impact on the quarter's gross margin. This increased 44% year-on-year, to 37 million euros. On the volume side, the average annualized volume delivered per station reached 596 MWh. Organic growth in volumes, defined excluding the effect of new stations in their startup phase, amounted to 27%, a pace that Fastned considers broadly in line with the 29% increase in the battery electric vehicle fleet in its markets.
Acceleration of deployment in Belgium, Germany and France
The annualized revenue per station reached 395,000 euros since the start of the year, supported by summer traffic, against a target range of 350,000 euros to 400,000 euros for 2026. The company notes that the fourth quarter is historically the most important of the year, due to the increase in the number of electric vehicles in circulation and low temperatures, which increase charging needs. During the quarter, Fastned signed agreements for 26 new sites, while four development sites were abandoned, and opened 17 stations. In Belgium, the network reached 60 stations, including the Libin Galaxia site (12 charging points up to 400 kW), developed with Idelux. In Germany, where the group is approaching 70 stations, 17 stations were built along motorways as part of the Deutschlandnetz program. In France, the opening of Thionville Yutz inaugurated the group's first kiosk in the country. In the Netherlands, a partnership concluded in September with the ANWB provides for promotion of Fastned to more than 600,000 users of the ANWB Charge Card, with a 10% discount on charging. For context, when publishing annual results on March 24, 2026, the group reported revenue of 139.2 million euros and a net loss of -30.2 million euros for fiscal year 2025.
2026 guidance confirmed with operational EBITDA margin of approximately 45%
Fastned reiterated its objectives for fiscal year 2026: 70 to 100 new operational stations by year-end (476 to 506 stations in total), average revenue per station of 350,000 euros to 400,000 euros, and an operational EBITDA margin of approximately 45%. For the current fiscal year, analysts anticipate on average revenue of 197 million euros, according to consensus established on October 10, 2026. To finance network expansion, the company launched its third bond issue of 2026 in the third quarter, as part of its permanent program intended for retail investors, open until October 30, 2026. A milestone of the employee stock option plan, established when listing on Euronext Amsterdam in 2019, was also reached: 2025 revenue exceeded 100 million euros and market capitalization crossed 700 million euros in the third quarter, releasing options representing 1% of shares outstanding. "Once again, Fastned grew faster than the market," said Michiel Langezaal, chief executive officer, noting that total sales grew 43% over the period. The most structural figure in the publication remains that of construction projects: 65 stations under construction at the start of the fourth quarter, against a target of 476 to 506 operational stations by end of 2026.
