Figeac Aéro Secures $18M Contract for Airbus A220 in Mexico
Figeac Aéro announced on Tuesday the signing of a contract in Mexico for the manufacturing of electrical components for the A220, which will utilize the capabilities of its Chihuahua site and is expected to generate about $18M over the duration of the contract. This agreement is part of the group's development strategy in North America.
Manufacturing of Aluminum Parts for Electrical Equipment
Figeac Aéro has signed a contract for the manufacturing of medium-sized aluminum parts intended for the electrical equipment of the A220, Airbus's latest narrow-body aircraft. These parts cater to the increased electrical consumption aboard modern aircraft. The contract leverages the expertise and production capabilities of the Figeac Aéro Chihuahua site, particularly in sheet metal work and assembly, which can be mobilized immediately without additional investments.
Expected Revenue of $18 Million
The group anticipates a total revenue of approximately $18M over the contract duration. A ramp-up is expected starting in 2027. This agreement will contribute to optimizing the utilization rate of the Mexican plant and will support its return to profitability, alongside other contracts recently won by the Chihuahua site.
Continuing Momentum in North America
This agreement continues the group's strategy in North America, which has been defined as a priority in the PILOT 28 plan. The region accounts for nearly 40% of the new business signed since the launch of this plan. Figeac Aéro has already secured more than 58% of its new business target for 2028.
