Fugro and Eomap join a European project to protect coral reefs and mangroves
Fugro announced on October 8, 2026 that its subsidiary EOMAP and itself will contribute their expertise in Earth observation to a European research program dedicated to coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass meadows. For this Dutch specialist in geographical data, the participation concerns a scientific project led by a German research institute.
An approach to coastal habitats as a single system
The m-CONNECT project aims to preserve three types of coastal habitats: coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass meadows. According to the press release, its specificity lies in the method adopted: these environments are considered not as distinct habitats, but as a single interconnected system.
