These half-yearly accounts were finalized on September 10, 2026, as the proposed public takeover bid for Gaumont shares was raised to €100 per share. Investments for the semester declined to €38.2M, compared to €46.0M in the first half of 2025.
Revenue driven by cinema and export
Consolidated revenue for the first half of 2026 amounted to €85.0M, compared to €64.3M in the first half of 2025. The activity of French film production and distribution reached €50.6M, compared to €36.2M one year earlier. Within this division, theatrical distribution in France increased to €12.9M (compared to €9.8M), with four films released generating 4.2 million admissions, versus 3.6 million for the four films in the first half of 2025. Sales of rights to French broadcasters amounted to €13.9M (compared to €9.7M) and export sales to €16.5M (compared to €8.9M). According to the group, this export increase is notably explained by the availability in the first half of 2026 of recent titles adapted for export, such as Le Mage du Kremlin. Audio-visual production and distribution activity increased to €28.3M, compared to €22.5M, with the delivery of five programs including Traqués and Lupin (Part 4).

Consolidated net loss amounted to €1.3M as of June 30, 2026, compared to a loss of €5.0M as of June 30, 2025. The result from film production and distribution activities, before overhead costs, stood at €15.3M (compared to €11.0M), while that from audio-visual programs came to €3.6M, against €6.0M one year earlier. Overhead costs, including financing costs for general requirements, amounted to €22.4M, compared to €25.1M in the first half of 2025. Group shareholders' equity amounted to €164.1M as of June 30, 2026, compared to €165.1M as of December 31, 2025. Net cash position totaled €39.3M as of June 30, 2026, compared to €45.2M as of December 31, 2025, and primarily comprises €47.1M in positive cash and €6.3M in state-guaranteed loans. The renewable credit line, which matured in May 2026, was renewed for €50.0M until May 2028, with no drawdowns as of June 30, 2026.
Three releases expected and a public takeover bid at price raised to €100
Gaumont plans three additional theatrical releases in 2026: Le Roi du Game by Éric Judor, L'Affaire Marie-Claire by Lauriane Escaffre and Yvo Muller, and Un Bon Petit Soldat by Stéphane Brizé, presented in official competition at the Venice Film Festival. The group has also produced two single productions and three fiction series scheduled for delivery before year-end. The group notes that, given the non-linear nature of its business, first half results are not representative of expected performance over the full year. On the capital side, Portzamparc, a subsidiary of the BNP Paribas group, filed on July 15, 2026 with the AMF, on behalf of Ciné Par and the Seydoux family group, a proposed public takeover bid for Gaumont shares at a price raised to €100 per share, compared to €90 in the initial proposal filed on April 13, 2026. The press release on 2026 annual results will be published on March 11, 2027.
