Klépierre shares break through support level and mark a new monthly low
The real estate security specialized in shopping centers ranks among the strongest declines on the SBF 120 this Monday, in an index that is nearly stable. The downward breach of a technical threshold monitored over several sessions gives a defensive tone to this trading session resuming after the weekend.
Klépierre breaks through its support at 37.46 € and amplifies its monthly decline
The Klépierre share loses 2.42% to 37.04 € during the session, after closing at 37.96 € on Friday, September 4. The security has broken downward through its support at 37.46 € and is holding below this level, thus erasing a technical floor that had held up during recent weeks. Over a one-month rolling period, the decline reaches 7.21%, compared to a gain of 6.74% over three months, which underscores the brutality of the recent reversal.
The SBF 120, for its part, is trading virtually in balance during the session (+0.05%), which isolates Klépierre's movement from the general trend of the Paris market. The RSI at 39 is approaching the oversold zone without being there yet, while the price is below the 20-day moving average at 38.69 € (difference of -4.26%) and the 50-day moving average at 37.98 € (difference of -2.47%): both short and medium-term moving averages are now weighing as resistance above the price. Only the 200-day moving average at 34.88 € remains clearly below the current price, leaving a positive difference of 6.19%.
Solid Q1 results, but rising rates revive pressure on real estate securities
When publishing Q1 2026 results (May 7, 2026), Klépierre had displayed positively oriented fundamentals: a 4.4% increase in retailers' sales, net rental income up 2.8%, and the acquisition of Casamassima bolstering the portfolio. These elements had accompanied the security's rise to a record high of 40.20 €, recorded in August according to available records. But the macro environment has evolved significantly since then.
In the United States, the August employment report (162,000 job creations, unemployment rate stable at 4.1%) fuels the probability of a Fed rate hike at its September 15-16 meeting: a prospect that tends to mechanically weigh on listed real estate securities, whose valuations are historically sensitive to long-term rate levels. Brent's volatility around $97, driven by tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, adds additional inflationary risk that could delay any pivot by central banks. The analysts' opinion on the security and the next identified resistance at 39.98 € give a measure of the ground the security has to recover, which should first digest the loss of the 37.46 € support.
