LightOn shares drop 6% following first-half 2026 results publication
The publication of first-half 2026 results, released yesterday, proved insufficient to support LightOn's share price on Wednesday. The generative AI model editor is experiencing a significant decline as the operating loss remains entrenched and the stock is already displaying a heavy contraction over three months.
A technical decline that extends a bearish momentum spanning several months
The LightOn share falls 5.99% during the session, to €3.14, in a nearly stable Paris market (the CAC 40 loses 0.16% during the session). The security is trading below its 20-day moving average at €3.28, with a gap of -2.44%, and finds itself far from its 50-day moving average at €3.79, representing a gap of -15.57%. The bearish configuration is thus confirmed over both short and medium-term timeframes.
The support level at €3.11 constitutes the next floor to observe, while resistance at €3.94 remains out of immediate reach. The RSI at 43 remains in neutral territory, signaling that selling pressure has not yet reached a clear oversold zone. Over three months, the stock is down 50.47%, and 55.54% over one year, reflecting an underlying unfavorable trend that has not been reversed by the half-year publication.
Results in progression but an operating loss weighing on investor confidence
Published on September 29, 2026, the first-half 2026 accounts show revenue growth of 51% and a gross margin brought to 28%, two genuine signals of commercial growth. However, the operating result remains at a loss of -€3.9 million, stable from one half-year to the other, leaving intact the question of the trajectory toward profitability. The new chief executive officer Jean-Philippe Baert, in position since July, presented a roadmap oriented around Search and the LightOn Suite platform.
This strategic reorientation has not dispelled market concerns about the path to break-even, especially as LightOn had completed in June 2026 a €4 million bond financing to secure its cash position through 2027. The support level at €3.11 remains the reference level in the short term for the stock's dynamics.
