Median Technologies: its Eyonis LCS software displays 93.3% sensitivity at Chest 2026
On October 14, 2026, Median Technologies announced that its American subsidiary Eyonis Inc. will present, at the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians, the results of the study used to establish the claimed performance of its Eyonis LCS lung cancer screening software. The company explicitly frames this participation within its strategy to support commercial deployment of the device in the United States.
Study on 2,163 patients and performance results
Conducted on a cohort of 2,163 patients representative of a lung cancer screening population, the study reports, at the patient level, an AUC of 0.977, a sensitivity of 93.3%, a specificity of 92.4% and a negative predictive value of 99.9%. According to the press release, these results suggest that Eyonis LCS contributes to reducing both false positives and false negatives (undetected cancers), by combining computer-aided detection and malignancy risk assessment specific to each nodule.
These data relate to an already authorized product: Eyonis LCS obtained FDA 510(k) clearance in February 2026 and is commercialized in the United States. Median Technologies presents it as the first and only AI-based software medical device authorized by the FDA to combine computer-aided detection and diagnosis in the screening pathway. The software provides healthcare professionals with a nodule detection function and a malignancy score per nodule.
The abstract, entitled "Artificial Intelligence for Lung Cancer Screening: Patient-Level Performance of a Computer-Aided Detection/Diagnosis Software as a Medical Device," includes co-authors from the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
A strategic presentation to American pulmonologists
The CHEST 2026 congress takes place from October 18-21, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. Benoit Huet, Senior Vice President of Engineering and AI Research at Median Technologies, will present the study on October 19, from 10:20 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., as part of the session dedicated to AI in lung cancer screening and diagnosis. The Eyonis team will also conduct software demonstrations at booth 1221 throughout the congress.
The company describes pulmonologists as a key stakeholder group for the adoption of AI-based decision support solutions, given their role in screening programs. Since FDA authorization, it states it is continuing its engagement with the entire screening ecosystem: pulmonologists, radiologists, screening centers and health systems.
"As lung cancer screening programs continue to expand in the United States, we believe that devices combining detection and diagnosis can contribute to more efficient screening pathways and better-informed clinical decisions," said Oran Muduroglu, President of Eyonis Inc.
