Medincell secures new €13.8 million loan without dilution; €41.8 million secured since July
In a press release published on October 13, 2026, Medincell announced the receipt of a new €13.8 million loan from European commercial banks and Bpifrance. The transaction completes a debt restructuring initiated in July 2026: partial repayment of the European Investment Bank (EIB) loan and extension of its debt maturity.
€13.8 million loan with no equity access instruments
The new €13.8 million financing adds to the €28 million in non-dilutive bank financing announced by the company in July 2026. Since that date, the total amount of non-dilutive financing secured by Medincell thus reaches €41.8 million.
According to the press release, this loan was obtained "on market terms" and contains no instruments providing access to equity. It therefore entails no dilution for existing shareholders.
This announcement comes in the same month as the FDA's approval of olanzapine LAI, a monthly treatment for schizophrenia in adults, which Teva is preparing to market in the United States under the brand name Weltruza.
Half of EIB loan repaid, debt maturity extended to 2031
In July 2026, Medincell repaid €23.2 million to the EIB. This amount comprises €20 million in principal, representing 50% of the loan, as well as capitalized interest.
The company indicates that it has furthermore extended its debt maturity until September 2031. As of March 31, 2026, Medincell had €84.8 million in cash and cash equivalents.
Based in Montpellier, the company develops and licenses long-acting injectable treatments based on its BEPO and BEPO Star technologies. Its first FDA-approved product, risperidone LAI, is marketed in the United States by Teva under the brand name Uzedy.
