Medincell shares among the steepest declines on the SBF 120, down 19% over the quarter
The Montpellier-based biopharmaceutical company is facing significant selling pressure this Thursday, October 1st, while the SBF 120 itself is losing ground during the session. The decline erases part of the rebound recorded at the end of September and places the share in a delicate technical configuration, below several of its key moving averages.
A decline of 4% that places the share below the 50-day MA and 200-day MA
Medincell falls 4.07% in trading, to €23.12, in an SBF 120 losing 1.25% at the same time. The decline places the share clearly below its 50-day MA (€23.97, a gap of -3.55%) and its 200-day MA (€24.83, a gap of -6.89%), two references that now form a double resistance above the price. Only the 20-day MA at €22.61 remains below, offering a first support to monitor.
The RSI at 58 does not signal oversold conditions: it simply reflects a momentum turning around, following last week's rebound that had brought the share among the best performers on the SBF 120. The support at €21.40 remains for now about 7.5% away, but the return below the 50-day MA and 200-day MA illustrates the persistent fragility of the share, whose performance over three months reaches -19.27%.
A challenging fundamental context and a decline that reflects an underlying trend
Over one year, the share is down 2.69%, but the loss over three months remains very significant. This medium-term decline had accelerated in mid-September, when the value had broken through its supports in an already pressured market. The technical rebound of the week of September 22 occurred following Teva's presentation of new clinical data on long-acting olanzapine (BEPO technology), presented from September 15-19 during the Psych Congress 2026, but this was not enough to reverse the momentum.
An FDA decision on this matter is expected by the end of 2026. Furthermore, according to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the valuation remains elevated: the share trades at around 55 times the expected earnings for the following fiscal year, which leaves little room in case of disappointment on the next regulatory steps. Resistance at €24.88 constitutes the next level to break through for the share to hope to consolidate above its moving averages.
