A developer of long-acting injectable treatments
Medincell develops and commercializes long-acting injectable treatments under license across several therapeutic areas. These treatments combine active pharmaceutical ingredients with the company's proprietary technologies, BEPO and BEPO Star.
These technologies control the release of a medication at a therapeutic level for several days, weeks or months. They are based on subcutaneous or local injection of a fully bioabsorbable depot.
Based in Montpellier, the company employs more than 150 people from over 27 nationalities.
Uzedy commercialized by Teva and olanzapine LAI under regulatory review
Risperidone LAI is the first treatment based on BEPO technology approved by the FDA: first for schizophrenia in April 2023, then for bipolar I disorder in October 2025. It is commercialized in the United States by Teva under the name Uzedy, with the BEPO technology licensed to this partner under the name SteadyTeq.
For olanzapine LAI, as a monthly treatment for schizophrenia in adults, Teva submitted a marketing authorization application to the FDA in December 2025. The American agency accepted the dossier on February 20, 2026.
In Europe, a marketing authorization application was accepted by the EMA in May 2026. Medincell's portfolio also includes several drug candidates, from formulation through phase 3 clinical trials.
