Mersen Stock: 5% Erased in Seven Days, Share Continues to Slip by 2%
The specialist in carbon materials is retreating in a Paris market oriented downward, following an already difficult trading session. The move brings the security back to contact with its moving averages, after several weeks of clear gains.
A Decline That Brings the Share Below its 20-Day Moving Average
The Mersen share loses 2.18% to €39.50, in an SBF 120 that falls 0.77% and a CAC 40 down 0.73%. The share thus places itself below its MA20 (€39.96, gap of 1.15%) and at contact with its MA50 (€39.31), which it had crossed upward last week. Over seven days, the decline reaches 5.05%, which contrasts with the gain of 54% over one year. The MA200, at €33.14, remains more than 19% below the price.
The Courbevoie group had published its H1 2026 results on August 3rd. It then targeted revenue of €1,260 million and EBITDA of €204.8 million for the following fiscal year. The share had gained 2.5% on Tuesday in the wake of its bullish series, before dropping nearly 2% on Wednesday, then retreating again this Thursday.
A Market Dealing with Tension in French Debt
The session is taking place as the 10-year OAT is at 4.83% according to the latest reading from the Banque de France on October 7th, 7 basis points below the peak of 4.90% on October 1st. The spread with the Bund reaches 1.34 points, at a time when the National Assembly has begun examining the 2027 budget in the finance committee. Internationally, the yield on the 10-year Treasury touched 5.36% on Wednesday, an unprecedented level since 2002, following Fed minutes that evoke a possible new tightening.
The Dow Jones fell 1.03% at the last close and the DAX is down 1.5% in the session. In the SBF 120 ranking, Mersen figures in the bottom quarter of the listing, far from the declines of more than 7% of Forvia or OPmobility. For the share, the support threshold at €36.18 remains the nearest technical level.
