Nearly 38% gained in one year: Valeo stock advances another 2.5%
The Parisian automotive equipment supplier is posting clear gains in mid-morning trading, in a well-oriented Paris market. The rebound comes alongside a still-elevated short position on the capital, though declining over the past month.
A stock well-established above its three moving averages
The stock gains 2.51% to €14.70, compared to €14.34 at the previous close, while the SBF 120 advances 0.66%. The increase is clear but does not place the value among the strongest of the day: it ranks in the middle of the index. Valeo remains above its 20-day moving average (€14.62, a gap of 0.55%) as well as its 50-day moving average (€14.50) and its 200-day moving average (€12.77), the latter standing 15.11% below the current price.
This configuration extends the underlying momentum, with a gain of 10.73% over three months, while the support at €13.65 remains distant and resistance at €15.50 is situated at approximately 5% from the current price. The recent context is well documented: the equipment supplier was selected by Nissan for the new generation of its ProPilot system on October 1st, a contract that had already supported the stock at the end of last week.
Short sales at 9.53% of capital, in slight decline
Seven funds hold a combined net short position of 9.53% of the capital according to declarations consulted, with the most recent dated October 2nd. This level remains elevated, but has declined by 0.79 percentage points over one month, from 10.32% previously: some of the bearish bets have thus been unwound. This signals that institutional investors are still numerous in positions against the value, without the recent trend worsening.
In terms of valuation, the stock trades at approximately 9.8 times the earnings of the current fiscal year according to analyst consensus. At the publication of H1 2026 results on July 22nd, the group had reaffirmed all of its objectives for the year. The next technical level to monitor is the resistance at €15.50.
