Over one year, Thales shares drop more than 17% and continue their decline during the session
The defense and electronics group extends its decline in a Paris market clearly oriented downward. The stock lost the technical support level it had been defending for several days and now trades below all of its moving averages, in the lower part of the CAC 40.
Below the 222.50 € support level, a stock retreating from its three moving averages
Thales falls 2.34% to 217.30 € during the session, compared to 222.50 € the previous day, a level that corresponded precisely to the support the stock was defending. The price thus breaks below this threshold, at a time when the CAC 40 declines 1.41% and the SBF 120 falls 1.37%. The stock's decline is more pronounced than that of the index, placing it at the bottom of the CAC 40 table: the group loses 4.1% over one week and nearly 7% over one month. The technical configuration confirms this fragility.
The price is below the 20-day MA (230.75 €, a 5.83% gap), the 50-day MA (244.27 €) and the 200-day MA (243.03 €, 10.59% above the current price). The RSI at 33 remains close to the oversold zone, without having reached it. The group had already briefly broken through 223.70 € on October 1st before recovering, but this rebound did not hold.
A dividend advance of 1.05 € and a series of recent contracts in the background
The board of directors, which met on September 29th, decided to pay a dividend advance of 1.05 € per share for fiscal year 2026. On the operational front, news remains abundant: Thales was selected by Danish Defense for an RSM NG radar intended for the Faroe Islands, it must supply five air surveillance radars to Ireland via the DGA, and it unveiled the BladeHAUL logistics robot with 3ME Technology. These announcements did not prevent the stock from declining over one year, where it loses 17.16%.
The French bond market remains under pressure: the yield on the 10-year OAT is 4.83% according to the Bank of France's report of October 7th, 7 basis points from its recent peak, with a 1.34 point spread versus the Bund. The next technical level to monitor is the 20-day MA, at 230.75 €, which the stock should reclaim to reverse short-term momentum.
