Oxurion Refocuses Its Strategy Around Its Exagis Software Platform
The Belgian biopharmaceutical group Oxurion announced on Monday the launch of a growth strategy centered on Exagis, its clinical data management software platform developed within its subsidiary Axiodis. This shift marks a transformation towards a more scalable business model, combining expertise in clinical operations and proprietary data.
A Platform Born from Clinical Operations
Exagis originated from practical field operations accumulated since 2017. Initially designed for the collection of clinical trial data (eCRF), the platform has gradually evolved into a complete clinical data management system (CDMS). It has supported more than 25 clinical projects involving 16,000 patients, 600 clinical centers, and 18 sponsors. In recent months, Oxurion has accelerated its commercialization as a standalone software solution, now distinctly identified and valued in customer contracts and generating software publishing revenues.
Continuous Accumulation of Operational Intelligence
The platform captures and structures proprietary workflows, metadata, and expertise generated by ongoing studies. As new clients, projects, and acquisitions are integrated, Exagis continuously accumulates additional operational intelligence, which is leveraged to optimize efficiency, automation, and decision-making. The technology strategy plans for the gradual integration of targeted artificial intelligence capabilities focused on tangible operational benefits: assistance in study design, data standardization, quality controls, and regulatory workflows.
First eTMF Module Scheduled for July 2026
The next major milestone is the deployment of the first eTMF (electronic Trial Master File) module, scheduled for July 2026, aimed at enabling pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to manage clinical trial documentation. Future developments are expected to include additional functionalities: optimization of study randomization, management of clinical supplies, and advanced data management functions. Exagis is set to become the common technological foundation of the group's clinical research activities, supporting current operations and future acquisitions.
