The store will be located in the renovated De Lely shopping centre, which has approximately 11,500 m² of retail space and includes Jumbo, Lidl, Kruidvat and KiK, among others. The site claims about 1.6 million visitors per year, a catchment area of approximately 392,000 inhabitants within a 20-minute drive, and about 285 parking spaces.
BudgetPets intends to benefit from the footfall of the centre's two supermarkets, which attract customers doing their daily shopping. The range will cover food for dogs and cats, treats, grooming products and accessories, with brands such as Royal Canin.
The online store BudgetPets.nl is scheduled to go live in November 2026 across the Netherlands. Restocking of the stores and processing of online orders will be handled by the group's existing distribution centre in Wormerveer.
