Rubis stock rebounds 2.5% and tests its 200-day moving average
The petroleum products distributor posts a solid rebound during the session in an almost stable Paris market. The gains are accompanied by a technical resistance breakout and a positive revision from Portzamparc, two signals that converge in favor of the security this Wednesday.
A resistance breakout that propels Rubis among the top gainers of the SBF 120
The Rubis stock gains 2.63% to €33.52 during the session, positioning itself among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120 while the Paris index evolves in almost stable territory (−0.03%). The security broke above its €33.52 resistance level during the session and is maintaining it, which constitutes a breakout point after several weeks of consolidation. The advance brings Rubis to the level of its 200-day moving average, set at €33.54, with a gap of only −0.06%: the price is therefore testing this long-term threshold after clearly moving back above the 20-day moving average (€32.45) and the 50-day moving average (€33.16). The RSI at 49 remains neutral, without excessive signals in either direction.
Over one month, the security is now showing a gain of nearly 5.7%, which mitigates the quarterly decline of 4.83%. Performance over one year, exceeding 20%, paints a favorable underlying trend. In this context, Brent is nevertheless falling 7.26% during the session to $83.58 per barrel, representing a decline of nearly 14% since July 24: the resilience displayed by Rubis in the face of this oil pressure is worth noting.
Portzamparc upgrades Rubis to "strong buy" and targets €43
This Wednesday, Portzamparc upgraded its rating on Rubis from "buy" to "strong buy", while raising its price target from €42.80 to €43.00. Relative to the current price of €33.52, this target implies an upside potential of nearly 28%. Portzamparc thus becomes one of the rare brokers to assign the "strong buy" mention to the security, signaling reinforced conviction on the value.
This revision comes as the security is returning to key moving average levels, enhancing the visibility of the technical profile in the short term. The next threshold to monitor remains the long-term resistance at €36.84, which still represents an upside of approximately 10% beyond the current price.
