Safran Share: Nearly 3% Decline, Among CAC 40's Steepest Falls This Morning
The aerospace and defense engine manufacturer ranks among the CAC 40's strongest declines mid-morning, in an index also oriented downward. The stock breaks through a technical threshold it had been defending for several weeks, as an analysis firm has just adjusted its target.
Share Falls Below 200-Day Moving Average After Month-Long Decline
The Safran share declines 2.76% to €310.60, after abandoning its support level of €319.40, and falls below its 200-day MA at €317.34, representing a gap of 2.12%. This breakdown completes the degradation of an already fragile picture: the stock is down 7.12% on the week and 6.76% over one month, and remains below its short and medium-term moving averages. The CAC 40 for its part loses 0.81% in the session, placing Safran among the index's steepest declines.
UBS Lowers Price Target from €370 to €350 on Engine Manufacturer
The Swiss bank reduced its price target on Wednesday from €370 to €350 while maintaining a neutral rating. This new target implies upside potential of approximately 13% relative to the current share price. On the operations side, Safran Reosc announced on October 6 the completion by end-2026 of the 931 segments of the primary mirror of the Extremely Large Telescope, manufactured in Poitiers for the European Southern Observatory.
The group is also continuing its share buyback program of €375 million announced on September 18, executed at approximately 39% as of October 5. The €310.60 level will thus be the benchmark to monitor in the coming sessions.
