Safran stock stuck below its moving averages, support at €321.60 in focus
Safran is trading in the red this Tuesday, slightly diverging from a nearly stable CAC 40, as Bernstein has just raised its price target on the stock. The security remains trapped below its two first moving averages, in a context of subdued European markets and persistent macroeconomic uncertainties.
Bernstein raises its target to €420 with upside potential of nearly 27%
Bernstein revised its price target on Safran this Tuesday, raising it from €410 to €420, while maintaining its outperform rating. At the current price of €329.80, this target represents upside potential of nearly 27%. The analysts' consensus comes in a context where the stock is still down more than 4% over the past month, although the one-year performance remains positive at over 13%.
This positive revision is not enough to reverse today's trend: Safran declines 0.27% to €329.80 in trading, in a Paris market in balance, with the CAC 40 rising marginally by 0.07%. The €375 million share buyback program announced on September 18, 2026 also provides underlying support for the stock price, adding to €1.3 billion in shares repurchased over twelve months.
Safran below its short and medium-term moving averages, support at €321.60 in focus
From a technical standpoint, the stock is trading below its 20-day MA at €332.48 (variance of -0.81%) and below its 50-day MA at €339.07 (variance of -2.73%), a dual pressure that has persisted for several weeks, as illustrated by the previous session's rebound. Conversely, the price remains firmly above its 200-day MA at €315.19, with a positive variance of 4.64%, which preserves the underlying medium-term trend. The RSI at 48 remains neutral, with no signals of exhaustion in either direction. The support at €321.60, already under pressure in early September, constitutes the next reference zone in case of an amplification of the decline, while the resistance at €363.60 remains distant at approximately 10% above the current price.
