Exosens: its 2030 climate targets validated by SBTi, targeting a 42% reduction in emissions
In a press release published on November 5, 2026, Exosens announced that its short-term targets, set for 2030, have also been validated by SBTi Services, the subsidiary of the Science Based Targets initiative in charge of this process. This validation extends the commitment the group made to the organization in 2024 and links its approach to the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
Quantified targets by emissions scope for 2030 and 2050
By 2030, using 2024 as the base year, Exosens has committed to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions from its scope 1 and 2 by 42%. For scope 3, the targeted reduction reaches 25% for business travel and employee commuting.
For activities related to fuels and energy, as well as upstream transportation and distribution, the target concerns intensity, with a 51.6% reduction per euro of value added.
Suppliers representing 54% of emissions linked to the purchase of goods and services and capital goods must have set science-based targets.
By 2050, the net-zero goal across the entire value chain is based on a 90% reduction in absolute emissions, for both scope 1 and 2 and scope 3, again compared with 2024. These two deadlines structure the group's sustainability roadmap.
Priority reduction and neutralization of residual emissions
The group stated that it will prioritize emissions reduction and will neutralize residual emissions through carbon removal and permanent carbon storage, in line with SBTi criteria. The levers cited relate to energy efficiency, resource use, emissions linked to activities and transportation, and supplier engagement.
Exosens specified that achieving these targets will require sustained action on its part and on the part of its value chain partners, and will depend on the evolution of technologies, energy systems and other external factors. The group will regularly report on its progress in its sustainability publications.
For Jérôme Cerisier, chief executive officer, these targets “constitute a clear framework for reducing emissions from our activities and our value chain”.
The executive also stated: “As we develop our industrial presence and production capacities to meet the growing demand from our customers, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact”.
