A Two-Year Low at 65.66 € Quickly Erased During the Session
The Saint-Gobain stock gains 2.3% to 67.64 € during the session, among the strongest gainers in the CAC 40. The stock nonetheless began by breaking its support at 66.12 € to touch 65.66 €, a two-year low that surpasses the previous record of 65.72 € set in 2024. Buyers took control immediately after and brought the price back above this threshold.
The rebound occurs as the RSI fell to 29, a sign of selling exhaustion after a week down 4.1% and a month down 10.7%. The price nonetheless remains 3.1% below its MA20 and 13.7% below its MA200, leaving the underlying trend oriented downward.
Two Opposing Analyst Views: UBS Downgrades to Sell, Jefferies Remains a Buy
UBS lowered its price target from 70 € to 65 € and adopted a sell opinion, a target nearly 4% below the current price. Jefferies, conversely, maintains its buy rating with a target of 132.60 €, reduced from 137 €, roughly double the session level. The sector remains under pressure: the European construction environment remains deteriorated, with a construction climate at -17.2 in France and production declining 5.2% year-on-year. In this context, the 66.12 € support is the level that the stock has just tested and reclaimed.
