Schneider Electric Stock: The €800M OCEANE Weighs on the Stock, Lagging in the CAC 40

The stock loses ground following the new 2034 OCEANE

Schneider Electric drops by 1.97% to €276.30, while the CAC 40 gains 0.16% during the session. The stock is among the biggest losers in the index, alongside technology and mining stocks.

The session follows the launch, yesterday, of an offering of convertible or exchangeable bonds with a nominal amount of €800 million maturing in 2034. Concurrently, the group is repurchasing its 2030 convertible issue, with an outstanding amount of €650 million as of June 3, 2026. This type of operation mechanically triggers technical coverages by subscribers on the underlying stock, which could weigh on the price in the short term.

The decline follows a strong performance: +6.05% over a month and +22.77% over a year. On Tuesday, the stock had breached its resistance at €287.15, aiming for its historical record.

A decline that does not alter the bullish medium-term technical configuration

Despite today's drop, the stock remains above its three moving averages, with a 12.44% gap over the MM200 at €245.74. The RSI at 59 remains in the neutral zone, showing no signs of exhaustion, after the unsuccessful test of the €287.15 resistance earlier this week. The MACD remains positive, in line with the trend over the past three months.

The construction sector context remains degraded in Europe (construction climate at -17.2 in France and -5.2 in the EU in May), an environment to monitor for the equipment segment, even though the exposure to data centers and industrial automation largely offsets this cyclical weakness. The €287.15 threshold, defended by sellers, remains the next reference level to cross to rekindle the momentum.
