Smaio Signs with DePuy Synthes to Distribute Custom-Made Implants in the United States
The Lyon-based specialist in complex spine surgery announced on October 6, 2026 a commercial agency agreement that integrates its planning tools and custom-made implants into DePuy Synthes' spine offering. For SMAIO, listed on Euronext Growth Paris, the operation is part of the American deployment of its open platform KEOPS-4ME.
SMAIO Solutions Integrated into DePuy Synthes' Spine Offering
The signed agreement is a commercial agency contract concluded with DePuy Synthes, an orthopedic technology group based in Raynham, Massachusetts. Its portfolio covers joint reconstruction, trauma surgery, cranio-maxillofacial surgery, spine surgery and sports medicine.
Under this collaboration, a network of surgeons in the United States will have access to SMAIO's planning and realignment solutions as well as its patient-specific implants. These tools are integrated directly into DePuy Synthes' spine ecosystem, which includes notably the VELYS Active Robotic Assistance robotic assistance platform and the TriALTIS pedicle screw system, developed from the Expedium system.
KEOPS-4ME, an Open Platform for Major American Surgical Groups
SMAIO presents this agreement as an acceleration of its collaborative strategy aimed at deploying its open platform of personalized implant solutions on the American market. KEOPS-4ME combines data analysis, 3D surgical planning via the KEOPS Balance Analyzer 3D software and the use of patient-specific K-ROD stems.
According to the company, this platform is designed to enable it to establish commercial partnerships with major American surgical groups and to supply custom-made implants to surgeons who are clients of these groups. SMAIO, based in Dallas and Lyon, employs more than 50 employees and claims a database of more than 100,000 documented patient cases.
Management Betting on Access to an Expanded Hospital Network
Philippe Roussouly, Chief Executive Officer of SMAIO, described this collaboration as a significant step in the company's expansion in the United States. He indicated that access to a broader hospital network should foster the adoption of SMAIO's technology and support its commercial development.
The company will publish its first-half 2026 results and third-quarter 2026 revenue on October 13, 2026, after market close.
