Sodexo Unveils Shift & Grow 2030: Targeting Growth and Margins Beyond 5%
Sodexo has introduced its strategic plan 'Shift & Grow 2030' aimed at restoring its competitiveness and accelerating growth. The group targets an internal growth rate above 5% and an operating margin above 5% by 2030, relying on three pillars: enhancing customer proximity, operational simplification, and the evolution of performance culture.
A Plan Structured Around Three Pillars and Two Temporal Phases
Sodexo organizes its roadmap around three axes. The first aims to rebuild the growth engine by enhancing customer proximity, account management, and price competitiveness, with North America as the main priority. The second pillar focuses on simplifying and standardizing the operational model to increase efficiency and coherence. The third involves evolving the performance culture through leadership, talent management, and incentive systems. The implementation follows a two-stage trajectory. The fiscal years 2026 and 2027 are focused on restoring competitiveness and strengthening commercial capabilities. From 2028, the group plans to accelerate growth, enhance margins, and improve return on investment. Significant investments in technology, data, and artificial intelligence are expected to support these ambitions.
Progressive Financial Targets Until 2030
By 2027, Sodexo forecasts an internal revenue growth of +2% to +3%, with an operating margin between 3.2% and 3.4%, reflecting continued investments in operational capabilities. By 2030, the group targets an internal growth exceeding +5%, including a net development impact above +3%, and an operating margin above 5%. To finance this transformation, Sodexo anticipates approximately 100 million euros in annual recurring operational expenses and about 1 billion euros in non-recurring investments between 2026 and 2030, aimed at technology, procurement, and organizational transformation. Capital expenditures are expected to represent 2.5% to 3.0% of revenue.
A Framed Capital Allocation Policy
The group maintains a balanced shareholder return policy with a dividend payout ratio of 50%, while preserving its investment capacity. Sodexo considers targeted and complementary acquisitions to enhance its expertise and expand in priority markets, under strict financial discipline. Maintaining an 'investment grade' credit rating remains the goal to ensure financial flexibility and access to attractive financing conditions.
