Soitec stock surges over 6%, leading the SBF 120
Soitec stands out as the most dynamic value on the SBF 120 at mid-session, in a broadly declining Paris market. The Isère-based semiconductor substrate manufacturer posts a marked jump, as the CAC 40 falls nearly 1% and the sectoral context remains turbulent.
A 6.34% surge that pushes the stock above its 50-day moving average
The Soitec stock gains 6.34% to €114.85 in trading, in marked outperformance compared to an SBF 120 that declines 0.9%. This rebound confirms and extends the positive momentum of the week, which already shows a gain of over 5% on seven days. The stock now trades above its 50-day moving average (€110.81), with a spread of 3.65%, which represents a notable improvement compared to previous weeks.
It remains, however, below its MA20 at €116.89, with a spread of -1.75%: this level will need to be monitored to confirm the solidity of the movement. The RSI at 45 signals neither overbought nor bearish exhaustion, leaving room for continued gains. Resistance at €133.50 remains the natural target beyond the MA20, while support at €86.40 is very far from the current price.
A fundamental context between AI market stakes and recently settled tax dispute
Over one year, Soitec posts a performance of 206.5%, a sign of deep revaluation from last year's lows. This trajectory is based notably on opportunities identified upon publication of annual results (May 27, 2026): market share gains on AI demand and growing adoption of Photonics-SOI solutions for data centers. These growth drivers do not eliminate risks: inventory correction at certain clients remains a source of pressure on volumes in the short term.
Furthermore, the group settled in July its tax dispute with the French tax authorities, with a maximum outlay of €60M and the abandonment of approximately €320M in carryforward losses. On the valuation front, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock trades at around 40 times expected earnings for the following fiscal year, a level that reflects recovery expectations. The next technical milestone remains a sustained return above the MA20 at €116.89, a threshold that would align the three moving averages in a bullish configuration.
