Stellantis stock rebounds 2%, among the strongest gains on the CAC 40
Stellantis is recovering this Thursday morning, posting a rebound that contrasts with the difficult period it has experienced in recent weeks. The stock is benefiting from a slightly positive market environment in Paris, even as Berenberg downgraded its outlook on the Italian-American automaker yesterday, substantially reducing its price target.
Berenberg lowers target to €5.10 but maintains hold rating
Berenberg lowers its target to €5.10 but maintains its hold rating. Even at €5.10, this target still represents an upside potential of around 15% compared to the current price of €4.42, illustrating the extent of the losses accumulated by the stock. This move on September 16 represents a major revision by Berenberg, which had maintained its rating and €5.10 target the previous day (September 15). According to the consensus of tracked analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 7.7 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year and 4.2 times those of the following year, multiples that reflect the uncertainties weighing on the automotive sector.
A technical rebound in a well-oriented CAC 40, despite fundamentals under pressure
Stellantis gains 2.09% during the session at €4.42, ranking among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, as the index advances 0.22%. This rebound comes after the stock hit a five-year low during Wednesday's session, according to the brief published yesterday. Over one month, the stock is still down 4% and down nearly 26% over three months, which puts the scope of today's move into perspective. The technical configuration remains unfavorable: the price is trading below the 20-day MA (€4.59, down 3.61%) and the 50-day MA (€4.78, down 7.44%), and the price is more than 32% below the 200-day MA at €6.53.
The RSI at 41 does not yet signal an oversold configuration, and the MACD remains in negative territory. The first resistance level to monitor is at €4.91, representing approximately 11% above the current price. On the outlook side, during the publication of H1 2026 results on July 30, the Pro One commercial vehicles division posted 7% growth, notably with BEV order intake up 140% year-on-year for small and medium-sized fleets — but the varying pace of electrification across markets remains one of the key challenges identified by the group. The Paris Motor Show, where Stellantis will present nine concept-cars, will provide the next opportunity for the group to communicate on its roadmap towards 2030.
